Hi, I want to send you a story about Dean Barton's 'Tribute to
Smokie'
concert that I saw in Yorkshire two weeks ago.
Best wishes,
Annie from Ch. Republic
I'm a big Smokiefan for life and I was happy to travel to "Smokie
country" West Yorkshire on this holiday. Imagine how excited I was to
see "Dean Barton's Smokie Tribute" concert advertising in one pub!
Sure, I went there because I am always happy to hear Smokie's music,
and I know Dean is the eldest son of Alan Barton who was a Smokie
singer!! I was so very curious about this show!
When I came there, the big pub was full, there was a big crowd and no
empty place. I expected to see a wonderful show but what I saw was
above all of my expectations!! Dean is a great singer, his voice is
very very close to Alan Barton's but (I hope Alan will forgive me for
saying this!!) much stronger, deeper and more rich. Also, Dean is a
great performer, his stage show is really super, he's got stage
grace,
he can dance. What is much more important, he controls the whole
audience, he makes people hypnotised and truly enjoying themselves!
Everyone in the pub had the impression he sings just for them and
talks to them personally with all of his nice jokes. I couldn't take
my eyes off him during the concert, I was afraid to miss anything or
to miss his so lovely shining smile. :) It's seen that he truly loves
Smokie's classic hits and he can perform them top class. I'm very
proud to know that "the Smokie family" has such great followers who
pay their sincere tributes to Smokie's music! I want to thank Smokie
for their music and Dean for his great concert I was lucky to see!
The
audience was with him with all of their soul, they were laughing and
crying together with him, clapping and dancing as one. I met one girl
smoking outside and noticed she was barefoot. I said it wasn't like
British, she laughed and told me that she's not British, she came to see
this
concert from another far away country! She showed me her small bleeding
feet
and said that she wore high heel tight shoes but still couldn't keep
away
from too much dancing! :) We went inside and had a drink on Smokie's
music together, and I want to share this drink with all of their fans
now! Cheers!
Annie
